Old but Gold in the Modern Age

Business portraits are more than professional images for a website or social media. They are an expression of character, values and personal history. This was exactly the focus of this project with a law firm based in Munich, whose name remains intentionally anonymous. Not because it is unimportant, but because the story itself deserved full attention.

The concept behind this shoot was Old but Gold. To me, this means traditional values carried into the modern age. Experience, integrity and authenticity translated into a contemporary visual language without distorting or reinventing what already exists.

Time as the Foundation
for Authentic Images

This project did not start with a camera, but with conversations.

Several meetings beforehand, lasting around two to three hours in total, were essential to build trust and develop a shared understanding. It was important to both sides that the images felt natural and honest, reflecting the person and the law firm as they truly are.

The shoot itself took place inside the client’s law office in central Munich. No studio setup, no artificial backdrops, just the real environment where daily work happens and history can be felt the moment you enter.

The production lasted around twelve hours over two days. Not because it was complicated, but because we worked consciously with natural light. The atmosphere had to reflect exactly what a client experiences when entering the office.

When Photography
Becomes Secondary

What made this shoot special was the atmosphere.

We talked a lot, laughed a lot and shared stories. The client spoke openly about life experiences, successes and challenges. Photography became secondary and that is exactly when the strongest images are created.

When people stop thinking about the camera, real moments appear. No tension, no posing, just presence. Being photographed in a familiar environment makes all the difference.

Light Space and History

The lighting was chosen very deliberately.

The office is traditionally furnished, filled with details, materials and memories. The law firm has been passed down through generations, from grandfather to father to the present day. This heritage needed to remain visible.

Nothing was modernized for the sake of looking modern.

Old but Gold also means respecting history and allowing it to speak for itself.

That Awaken Memories

In the end, the result was a series of natural, story driven portraits and images of the office itself. Every photograph carries multiple layers of meaning. The focus was not quantity, but depth.

One of the most moving moments was the client’s reaction to the final images. He had tears in his eyes. The photographs brought back memories connected to the space, his family history and his own journey. This emotional response was exactly what we aimed for.

Why Strong Business Portraits Need Time

We take time for our clients.

We may be slightly more expensive than others, but as everyone knows, choosing cheap solutions often means paying twice. Business portraits are not something you create every day. These images represent you for years and shape how others perceive you.

The extra time invested does not only improve technical quality, but emotional depth. The result tells a story and that is what stays with people.
